Here are some fun, simple and kid-approved ways to celebrate Mother Earth this year:
1. Get Crafty with Nature
Turn sticks, leaves, pinecones and even cereal boxes into your next art masterpiece. Challenge the kiddos to make nature crowns, bird or fairy houses, or even futuristic robots.
2. Start a Mini Garden
Help your littles plant a seed — literally! Use a recycled plastic bottle as a DIY pot (hello, sustainability FTW), and snag free seeds at your local library or seed swap. Watching something grow = magical core memories.
3. Go on a Nature Walk Adventure
Backyard, local park, or full-on national park vibes—wherever you are, lace up and hit the trail. Bring a scavenger hunt list or play "I Spy" with bugs, birds, and funky-shaped leaves. Nature is the ultimate playground!
4. Recycle Old Clothes at Carter’s
Let’s be real, those daycare outfits have seen some things. Instead of trashing them, give them a chance to be repurposed! Carter’s is collecting any brand of baby and kids’ clothes (yep, rips and stains are welcome) through our Kidcycle x TerraCycle program. Just drop them off at participating stores now through May 26, 2025, and feel really good about doing your part. Learn more about our Kidcycle program here.
So go ahead, make this Earth Day a family affair full of dirt, crafts, laughs, and impact.
